RCL: Subjects
LATIN AMERICAN HISTORY The Latin American History section provides a selection of titles appropriate for the study of history at the undergraduate level. The coverage includes selected pre-Colombian indigenous accounts, colonial period studies, and post independence country and region histories. The coverage includes the geographical areas of Mexico, Central America, South America, and all the Caribbean Islands. The titles are organized primarily by traditional geographical regions but with additional thematic fields of Gender, Popular Culture, Environment, Civil-Military Relations, Drugs, and Afro-Latin America. The books listed here, while a core English language selection for undergraduates, should be supplemented with important texts in Spanish and Portuguese. Related coverage may be found in other sections of RCL, including Native American Studies and Latino Studies. Return to Subject List
